Our Corporate Purpose

To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick‑fil‑A.

Investing in Local Ownership

Becoming a local Chick‑fil‑A Owner-Operator offers the opportunity to build a business, shape a culture and invest in a better future.

Owner-Operators help continue the legacy that began with our founder Truett Cathy to be a positive influence on the people and communities we serve.

While it is an exceedingly rewarding opportunity, it does require long hours and leading a large team of employees. It’s not for those seeking passive financial investment, working from the sidelines or adding to a portfolio of business ventures. It’s a hands-on, life investment for leaders looking to build a business and their community.

Working at Chick‑fil‑A

We believe a strong and caring culture is essential to our success. The notion of care applies not only to our local Owner-Operators, Team Members and guests in Chick‑fil‑A restaurants, but also to how we treat each other at our corporate offices.

Chick‑fil‑A is committed to a workplace culture where everyone is treated with honour, dignity and respect. One of our core values, “We are better together”, supports this. When we combine our unique backgrounds and experiences with a culture of belonging, we can strengthen the quality of care we deliver.

Speaking of Sundays

Our founder, S. Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946. He knew what it was like to work seven days a week in restaurants, so he saw the importance of letting his employees set aside one day to rest and worship if they choose. That’s a practice we still uphold today.

Commitment to Quality

Chick-fil-A restaurants offer quality food served with exceptional hospitality. From hand-breading the chicken for our classic sandwiches to sourcing fresh produce for our salads and fruit cups, we believe in great fast food every day (except Sundays).

Striving to serve freshly prepared food while reducing food waste, we take a “cook less, more often” approach. By studying smart, lean manufacturing principles used in other industries, we’re working toward a menu that achieves these goals and enhances your experience, while never sacrificing delicious taste.

A people business and a family business

Truett always maintained he was in the people business, prioritizing customer service and dedication to his community. When traveling one day, he thanked a hotel employee and the man responded, “my pleasure.” Struck by that response, Truett encouraged his employees to add that phrase to their daily interactions, something they continue to do to this day.

Chick-fil-A is still a family business, with Truett’s grandson Andrew serving as the CEO. The Cathy family has been working together for over 70 years. Today, several second and third generation Cathy family members carry on the company tradition.
